Friends of Angela Davis Park

with Regina Agu

Friends of Angela Davis Park uses the programming committee as a model for critical intervention. The work takes the form of free events organized in the park by a group of concerned citizens. Readings, workshops, and performances engage the audience in the living history of Houston's built environment and the city’s role in the incarceration industry.

Angela Davis Park was established in 2012 as an interaction with the city landscape and a celebration of the life and work of the park's namesake.
